Elevator Preventive Measures

The following are some preventive measures that can help avoid shutdowns and ensure the smooth operation of your elevators. By following these guidelines, you can minimize the risk of elevator malfunctions and enhance the overall reliability of your elevator system.

Regularly cleaning the door tracks is crucial to prevent them from jamming up. Accumulated dirt and debris can hinder the smooth movement of the elevator doors, leading to potential malfunctions.
When cleaning the stainless-steel panels inside the elevator, it is essential to avoid spraying cleaning solutions directly onto the panels. This is because the spray can seep into the door lock contacts, safety edge, and gate switch contacts, leaving behind residue that can interfere with their proper functioning.
It is important to keep the machine rooms where the elevator controllers are located at a moderate room temperature. Excessive heat can cause various controller issues, leading to elevator malfunctions and potential shutdowns.
To prevent damage to the elevator doors, it is crucial to avoid hitting them with heavy objects such as food and laundry carts. Impacting the doors forcefully can result in misalignment, damage to the door mechanisms, and potential malfunctions.
Avoid holding the door open for an extended period of time or forcing door open while they are closing, Holding the door and/or forcing the doors open will cause the door timer circuit to fault out and shut the elevator down.
