Elevator Preventive Measures

These preventive measures can help prevent shutdowns and keep your elevators operating smoothly. By following these guidelines, you can minimize the risk of malfunctions and enhance the overall reliability of your elevator system.

Regularly cleaning the door tracks is crucial to prevent jamming. Accumulated dirt and debris can hinder the smooth movement of the elevator doors and lead to malfunctions.
When cleaning the stainless-steel panels inside the elevator, avoid spraying cleaning solutions directly onto the panels. The spray can seep into the door lock contacts, safety edge, and gate switch contacts, leaving residue that can interfere with their proper functioning.
It is important to maintain moderate room temperatures in the machine rooms where the elevator controllers are located. Excessive heat can cause various controller issues, leading to elevator malfunctions and potential shutdowns.
To prevent damage to the elevator doors, avoid hitting them with heavy objects, such as food and laundry carts. Impacting the doors forcefully can cause misalignment, damage to the door mechanisms, and potential malfunctions.
Avoid holding the door open for an extended period or forcing the door open while it is closing. Holding the door or forcing the doors open will cause the door timer circuit to fault and shut the elevator down.
